Nick joined the Allen Law Group in 2018, initially working on a large municipal easement project. Since then, he has gained substantial experience in real estate law, including negotiations, title issues, and the acquisition and sale of commercial properties.
Nick has worked extensively with both state and federal nonprofits, guiding them through obtaining and maintaining 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, handling operations, and advising on restructuring and compliance matters. Nick has also served as an administrator and coordinator for nonprofit boards.
In addition to his nonprofit work, Nick has deep experience in corporate and municipal compliance, including leading internal investigations. He has coordinated projects for various public entities and has handled hundreds of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests on behalf of municipal entities.
Nick’s project management skills span large-scale initiatives, including municipal licensing matters, competitive bidding processes (from publishing solicitations through training evaluation committees), and overseeing local government tax abatement auditing and compliance.
Nick has also worked closely with ALG attorneys on a wide range of contracts, including drafting and execution of employment agreements, separation agreements, professional services contracts, and construction contracts.
During his academic career, Nick interned with the Honorable Judge Annette Berry at the Third Circuit Criminal Court and participated in Wayne State University Law School's Disability Law Clinic. There, he played a key role in the case Binno v. LSAC, deposing the then-director of testing for the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) and drafting a settlement agreement. This case resulted in the removal of the "games" section of the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) due to its unfair impact on visually impaired test takers.
Nick is also actively engaged in community service. He has volunteered in summer programs offering seminars to grade school students at no cost on a variety of topics. Nick also sits on the Board of Trustees of the North Cass Community Union, which organizes and funds the annual Dally in the Alley festival in the Cass Corridor neighborhood of Detroit.
Nick holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and earned his Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School.
