Sean M. Farrell joined the Allen Law Group in 2022. Sean's practice is focused on transactional law, real property and real estate financing, corporate law, federal grant compliance, municipal law, entertainment law, and technology law including data privacy and cybersecurity incident response.
Sean's transactional experience includes proficiency in contract drafting and review, as well as real estate financing agreements using braided private, local, state, and federal funding. Sean's corporate experience includes governance, restructuring, corporate entity selection, as well as creating bylaws, operating agreements, and other relevant formation documentation. Sean has provided compliance overview for federal programs with grants exceeding $300 million, including compliance under 2 CFR Uniform Guidance.
Sean’s background in technology and business has informed his interest in cutting edge tech law issues, including data privacy compliance under patchwork state and federal law. Sean also advises cyber security and data breach response and protocols. Finally, Sean is passionate about advising on artificial intelligence integration, as well as representing tech startups and emerging businesses.
Sean is a graduate of Wayne State University Law School where he was the recipient of several awards and accolades, including the Clinical Legal Education Association’s (CLEA) Outstanding Extern Award, the Wayne State Pro Bono Warrior Award, and Advanced Externship award. While in law school, Sean worked as in-house counsel for a large automotive parts supplier providing an array of services such as drafting and reviewing purchase agreements, contract drafting and review, corporate governance, and advising on employment law issues. Further, Sean spent a year and a half working in the complex litigation division of a large public interest firm in which Sean gained experience bringing affirmative actions in District, Circuit, and Federal court on behalf of indigent clients.
Sean’s business acumen is bolstered by his prior 13- years’ experience providing corporate analysis and news analysis for Fortune 500 company executives. Through this role, Sean became proficient in understanding a diverse range of markets and industries, as well as synthesizing the relevant news and information large corporations need to adapt to ever-changing market conditions. Through this work experience, Sean honed his ability to understand the client’s business, as well as their unique strengths and needs.
Sean is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the American Bar Association, the Detroit Bar, Metaverse Bar Association, and LexDAO legal engineering guild.
