In a certain city in Michigan, nearly 50% of streetlights were non-functional, creating both a public safety crisis and a loss of confidence in the city's ability to deliver essential services. In response to urgent calls from residents, ALG collaborated with key stakeholders to successfully secure $185 million in bonds, leading to the establishment of a city public lighting authority and the complete relighting of the city.

Our key contributions included:

  • Financing & Public-Private Partnership Development – Facilitating the bond sale and structuring a sustainable funding model for citywide lighting improvements.
  • Procurement & Construction Oversight – Advising the lighting authority on vendor selection, contract management, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Streetlight System Overhaul – Managing the installation of over 60,000 energy-efficient LED streetlights across the city in less than three years.

With the construction phase successfully completed, ALG continues to play a critical role in the ongoing maintenance and funding of the city’s modernized streetlight infrastructure—ensuring that the new lighting system remains a symbol of the city's continued growth and revitalization.
