Lisa M. Gardner represents a diverse variety of clients, from large national corporations to local independent entrepreneurs, in various matters throughout Michigan. Ms. Gardner counsels clients on an array of practice areas including commercial litigation, domestic relations, landlord/tenant, bankruptcy, creditors rights, and real property.

As a litigator, Ms. Gardner is a consistently strong, dedicated, and effective advocate for her clients. Her experience involves extensive litigation matters in both state and federal courts. Ms. Gardner represented GE-Money Bank and other creditors innumerous creditors rights litigation.

Ms. Gardner also practices civil rights litigation. She worked on multiple civil rights matters involving claims of discrimination and harassment violative of Title VII and the Elliot-Larsen Civil Rights Act for various plaintiffs.

In addition to the above practices, Ms. Gardner also represented the Hussmann Corporation in a product liability matter, insureds in auto negligence matters for the American Automobile Association (AAA), and business entities in personal injury matters.

Ms. Gardner also represents clients in non-litigation matters including environmental law and real property. In particular, Ms. Gardner has worked extensively in niche real property law areas of condemnation and eminent domain.

From 2012 through 2017 Ms. Gardner worked on a vegetation management easement acquisition project for an electric transmission company. The project entailed preparation of good-faith offers to property owners within the project’s footprint. Ms. Gardner worked to preserve her client’s reputation within the affected community by initiating and engaging in negotiations with the property owners to acquire voluntary easements.

As a result of situations where her good-faith negotiation attempts failed to result in an amicable resolution, Ms. Gardner also has extensive experience on acquiring easements through litigation.

Ms. Gardner earned her Bachelors of Science at the Michigan State University and earned her Juris Doctorate at the Wayne State University Law School. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the American Bar Association. Ms. Gardner also sits on various board, including the Economic Development Corporation of the City of Melvindale and the Homeless Action Network of Detroit.
